After years of feeling as though there was nothing to do where I lived, I decided to stop feeling that way, and just go. Go explore, find, and discover Indiana. Not all at once of course, but I decided I needed a place to share the places I found with other Midwest moms and families who may feel the same way! So, I created Indiana Hannah as a guide to all of the best things Indiana has to offer. At the time I created it, I didn’t expect much from it other than a creative outlet for me. But, when I decided to quit my corporate job after my son turned one, God turned my heart to Indiana Hannah as a way to help me out of my postpartum funk. Things quickly progressed from there and I started traveling for both pure enjoyment and as a content creator working with companies and brands that I had only dreamed of working with before. It didn’t take long for me to realize that this is what I wanted to do, share the places I was finding and going with other families while creating a trustworthy place of reference for things to do in Indiana and beyond.
Small Facts About Me
I am married to the man of my dreams, a mom to the sweetest boys on Earth, and a follower of Jesus. I was raised up a farmer’s daughter on an Illinois farm that has been in my family for hundreds of years. I spent my childhood surrounded by cattle and tractors, and spent my days with my siblings playing in the hayloft and riding our four-wheelers. My appreciation for hard work, heritage, and hometowns is a result of how I grew up, and so is my need for adventure in life. I graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Agricultural Leadership and Sciences Education: this is just a fancy way of saying that I really love agriculture advocacy and knowing how individual people learn and retain information the best. I love being anywhere in nature, exploring new and old places alike, and watching my kids learn about the world around them. I have always had a deep desire to explore the natural world: oceans, caves, forests, and mountains, and would spend hours watching and reading nature documentaries as a girl. Now, I spend my days teaching my sons about all of those things and what it’s so important to pursue what you love, even if you don’t know where you’ll end up. I love so many different types of things that I feel as though I don’t have any specific style when it comes to how I decorate my home or dress, I like what I like and that’s just what I go with!
